ABSTRACT
Drawing on Frombork town’s archive and the metric books of Frombork, Braniewo and Lidzbark Warmiński, the author considers the figure of Jacobus Zaneti/Zanetti, a councilor of Frombork (c. 1661–1737) and the activities of his family, in particular his son Jacobus Zaneti/
Zanetti junior (1735–1776), a sculptor and from 1770 a citizen of the Old Town of Braniewo. In addition, he also considers the biographies of two other Frombork councilors: Michael Knorr (1683–1722) from Lidzbark Warmiński and Joannes Constantinus Herder (1677–1742), who
probably came from the village of Skolity in the Dombromiejski district, with familial connections to the circle of councilor Jacobus Zanetti/Zanetti.
