GDPR Privacy Notice – for the authors of articles sent for publication in the "Komunikaty Mazursko-Warmińskie ("Masuro-Warmian Bulletin")

 
In accordance with Article 13(1) and (2) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation on Data Protection), hereinafter referred to as the GDPR, we inform you that:

1) The controller of your personal data is the Wojciech Ketrzynski Northern Institute based in Olsztyn, ul. Partyzantów 87.

2) On the basis of the applicable legislation, we have appointed a Data Protection Officer (hereinafter referred to as the DPO). You can contact the DPO:

3) Personal data will be processed in order:
a) to carry out the review procedure of and to publish the article in connection with the conclusion and performance of a contract on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (processing is necessary for performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party and/or to take action upon the data subject’s request, prior to conclusion of the said contract);
b) to pursue legitimate interests in connection with possible claims, on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

4) The provision of your personal data by you is necessary in order to carry out the review procedure and to publish your article. Provision of personal data is not mandatory but failure to provide them shall render the publication of your article impossible.

5) The recipients of your personal data will be the Controller’s authorised employees, entities to whom the personal data must be disclosed on the basis of legal provisions, and entities to which the data will be entrusted for the purposes of processing.

6) The data contained in the publication will be generally available for all the recipients that choose to read the publication.

7) ) Your personal data will be processed for the whole duration of the editorial process, performance of the contract and until the statute of limitations for claims arising from that contract has expired, and then for the period necessary to archive the documentation.

8) Your data will not be transferred to third countries.

9) Please be advised that we do not use automated decision-making systems.

10) You shall have the right to request access to your personal data and to have them rectified (amended). You shall also have the right to request erasure or restriction of processing, as well as to object to the processing, but you shall only enjoy this right as long as the further processing is not necessary for the fulfilment of a legal obligation by the controller and there are no other overriding legal grounds for the processing.

11) You shall have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Office for the Protection of Personal Data (“PUODO”) if, in your opinion, the processing of your personal data violates the provisions of the GDPR.
