ABSTRACT
This article seeks to present the life path and official career of Dr Zygmunt Tadeusz Robel (1891–1976), who was, i.a., chief of the Military Department of the Silesian Voivodship Office in Katowice, deputy governor and acting governor of the Krakow Voivodship, plenipotentiary of the Polish government for the Mazurian District and the Olsztyn Voivodship Governor, as well as secretary of the University of Warsaw. Robel’s archival personal files from a variety of phases of his professional activity, both during the Second Republic and the so-called People’s Republic of Poland, were reviewed. Notwithstanding the varying degrees of preservation, the source material enclosed should make a useful contribution to biographical research into the history of Polish administrative office personnel in the 20th century.
