About the Journal

History of the journal
“Masuro-Warmian Bulletin”, published in Olsztyn since 1957, is the oldest historical journal on the area of Warmia and Mazury. This quarterly journal is a continuation and draws on the tradition of the “Scientific Information Bulletin” issued in years 1946-1950 by the Masurian Institute. Emilia Sukertowa-Biedrawina was the first editor of the “Masuro-Warmian Bulletin”. Nevertheless, the journal gained its reputation, recognizability and international character thanks to the work of the long-term chairperson of the Program Board – Prof. Marian Biskup, and of the members of the Editorial Board – Prof. Janusz Jasiński, Prof. Wojciech Wrzesiński, and Prof. Bohdan Łukaszewicz.
“Masuro-Warmian Bulletin” is a supra-regional scientific quarterly journal, with its research interest in the area of the north-eastern Poland, the area of the historical Prussia and the northern area of the First Polish Republic.
The journal is issued by the Wojciech Ketrzynski Northern Institute (formerly The Wojciech Kętrzyński Research Center) in Olsztyn, the Wojciech Ketrzynski Scientific Society, and the State Archives in Olsztyn.
