ABSTRACT
Review article of a collective publication on the activities of the security apparatus against the German population who remained in the western and northern areas of the Polish state in the years 1945-1989. The work contains five texts by four researchers representing the academic centres in Słupsk and Wroclaw as well as the branches of the Institute of National Remembrance in Gdansk and Wroclaw. The articles present and discuss the main directions, methods and forms of action of the apparatus of repression of the communist state, which were carried out against the Germans – but also partly against the Polish native population – in the so-called reclaimed territories during the period of Poland and the People’s Republic of Poland. Territorially, the issues addressed include Lower Silesia, Lebuser Land, West Pomerania, Gdansk Pomerania as well as Warmia and Masuria.
