ABSTRACT
This article contains an edition of the letters written in 1897 by Dr. Zaremba to Franciszek Piekosiński on the Prussian armorial authored by Jan Karol Dachnowski. Thanks to their correspondence, we learn how Piekosiński obtained the Prussian armorial and get to know the author
of the copy, Wacław Zaremba. Thanks to Piekosiński’s efforts, a copy of Jan Karol Dachnowski’s Prussian armorial was borrowed from Toruń to Wrocław, where Zaremba copied it in the local archives. Wellknown Wrocław archivists provided significant assistance at that time. The subject
of the edition are the letters found in 2022 while working on a new catalogue of manuscripts of the Scientific Library of the PAAS and the PAS. At that time, a manuscript with reference number 8843 was described.
