The regulation of the Minister of Finance from 1989 concerning the cessation of financing associations from the state budget, which was an element of the systemic transformation initiated at that time, also concerned the future of Ośrodek Badań Naukowych im. Wojciecha Kętrzyńskiego. Further activity required internal transformations, carried out in accordance with the legal acts issued at that time. The material is the minutes of the General Meeting of the association members convened in April 1990. At that time, among other things, the project of dividing the previous unit into an institutional part (Ośrodek Badań Naukowych im. Wojciecha Kętrzyńskiego – Wojciech Kętrzyński Scientific Research Centre) and an association part (Towarzystwo Naukowe im. Wojciecha Kętrzyńskiego – Wojciech Kętrzyński Scientific Society) was discussed. The meeting was typical of the time of breakthrough, and the record of the discussion shows the concern of those gathered for the future of the institution and its scientific achievements. There were also critical voices about the previous directions of activities and the insufficient scientific development of employees.
